God, Chess and Success (Final)

I soon learned that my poor business choices in how I was dealing with people were disappointing to God, myself and my family. I was trying to be successful in my lame attempts at being strategic – when I lost sight of the gifts God had given me. Those gifts and relying on faith, would be all the strategy I needed towards being successful.

It took me some time, but I eventually learned how I to leverage strategy in growing my business. If it was not for my level of perseverance, I would not have understood what weaknesses existed within me. It had nothing to do with my opponent. When you play chess, your moves are based on careful decisions to protect each piece, as you make a move towards the King. The same thinking process is needed for our goals. I’m not saying it is easy, because having patience is not always easy when you are riding your level of perseverance towards success.

God gave each and every one of us gifts and strengths to use, but we are required to think about our decisions. Sometimes, those choices are not obvious and our gifts are not always clear. No person can guarantee having an educational degree will make you more money. However, you have faith that the knowledge you will gain will give you some insight. This is having strategic faith – but the decision is your own.

Throughout our decisions, we will stumble and make plenty of mistakes. These mistakes are experiences to learn from and will allow us to reposition. Unfortunately, we cannot take back the time lost, but it will give us caution to move forward and not repeat them if we are paying attention. I have endured much failure in life, but I have recognized an internal strength that was God-given to support my internal maturity and education to strategize my next steps. I leveraged each failure to understand how I could better position myself, who I can rely on, where my market is, or how much bandwidth I can tolerate. Each choice was my own free will, but each decision was my move across the chess board.

The game board of life is ever changing and moving – but it is you that are strategizing to materialize your goals. The perseverance you find to keep you motivated, to identify your faults, to understand your strengths, will help you understand your game plan. In life, you will not be able to see the King if you do not know what it is you want to accomplish. If you fail, it is okay to process that failure into a learning experience. The symbolism behind your game is to think moves ahead to reach your goal and capture the King – which is your success … whatever that means.

We have all the capabilities through the gifts of God. Understand what it is you want to accomplish and learning how to get there. Your decisions, your choices and your gifts are the pieces you need. The gifts are to help you overcome, when you are feeling defeated. That perseverance you feel is the personal strength of God that you hear and feel. It does not always have direct impact on your choices, but it impacts the choices you make.
